The conference "Architectural Archaeology–2021" takes place on October 14, 2021, Thursday, at 10:30 a.m., at the Gorokhovets Museum of History and Architecture, is held by the Institute of Archaeology of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The conference will be organized in a mixed format – there will be in-person talks as well as online presentations via Zoom-platform.

The organizers of the conference consider architectural and archaeological issues as those on the boundary between two disciplines: archaeology and architecture. The conference will look into architectural constructions in archaeological condition, and into developing the architectural forms of existing ancient buildings.

Presentations will include a series of talks on the architectural archaeology of the Crimea and the Taman Peninsula, both ancient at Phanagoria and medieval at Kerch and Eski-Kermen; on recent discoveries made during rescue or research work on Old Rus’ pre-Mongol cathedrals in Polotsk, Novgorod, and Yuriev-Polsk; and on studies of architectural sites from the time of Late Medieval Rus’ till XVI–XVII centuries.
