On the 13th and 14th of March 2024, the upcoming annual scientific conference entitled «Archaeological Research: New Materials and Interpretations» is scheduled to take place in Moscow. This event is organized in conjunction with the commemoration of the 300th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Traditionally, the conference serves as a platform for the convergence of representatives from leading academic institutions across various countries, facilitating the exchange of ideas, concepts, and developmental strategies within the field of archaeology. The conference establishes contemporary foundations for understanding historical processes, spanning from ancient times to the late Middle Ages and the Modern era.
The conference is expected to attract researchers from leading archaeological research centres in both Russia and other countries, as well as specialists in the natural sciences. The central focus of the conference lies in the presentation of results from noteworthy field projects, outcomes of extensive interdisciplinary programmes dedicated to the exploration of archaeological and anthropological sources, and the anticipated directions for further advancements in research methodologies. Chronologically, the presentations will cover the history of Eurasian populations from the Stone Age to the late Middle Ages and the Modern era.
