The Institute of Archaeology Russian Academy of Sciences is pleased to announce its annual scientific conference entitled «Archaeological research: new data and interpretations» on the 2nd and 3rd of March 2023. This gathering aims to bring together a diverse group of experts, including archaeologists and anthropologists from scientific institutions in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Veliky Novgorod, Crimea, Taman', and the Vojvodina Museum in Serbia, as well as natural scientists  from the Institute of Biotechnology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Scientific Centre of Genetics and Life Sciences of Sirius University, the Institute of Geography of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and the Institute of Experimental Botany of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

The conference will showcase the results of significant field projects and interdisciplinary programs that examine archaeological and anthropological sources, as well as explore the prospects of advancing research methods. The presentations will cover a chronological range of topics, encompassing the history of populations in Europe and Central/Inner Asia from the Stone Age to the Middle Ages. 

This conference offers a unique opportunity for attendees to engage in intellectual exchange, share innovative concepts and ideas, and contribute to the development of archaeology as a discipline. By fostering collaboration and promoting cutting-edge research, this event will lay the foundation for a deeper understanding of historical processes in antiquity and the Middle Ages. 

The conference will be held at the Institute of Archaeology Russian Academy of Sciences located at 19 Dmitry Ulyanov Street, Moscow, 2nd and 3rd of March 2023.
