Родилась 18.01.1952 г. в г. Монца, Италия.
Окончила: философский факультет Венского университета (Ph.D. по специальности «Археология», 1980), магистратуру по археометаллургии и количественным методам анализа в археологии в Лондонском университете (1986).
Кандидатская диссертация: «Die neueattischen Doppelhermen» (1980), Венский университет.
Научные интересы: археология, археометрия, изучение археологических материалов, материаловедение, древние пигменты, древняя металлургия, археологическая керамика, древнее стекло
Научно-организационная деятельность: работала в должности заместителя директора музея в городе Больцано (Италия) (19821984).  Член Общества исследователей истории металлургии (Historical Metallurgical Society) с 1995 г., Общества историков ювелирного искусства при Британском музее (19952002), Итальянской археометрической ассоциации (с 1998 г.), Национальной ассоциации исследователей Аквилеи с 1999 г.,  Член постоянного оргкомитета международной конференции BUMA с 20062020 (Международная конференция по ранним металлам и сплавам), Итальянский институт по исследованию доисторической и раннеисторической эпохи (IIPP) с 2007 г., вице-президент постоянного оргкомитета международного конгресса по технологиям обработки бронзы в древности (International Congress on Ancient Bronzes), член постоянного оргкомитета конференции «Археометаллургия в Европе» (AiE). Член и секретарь археометрической комиссии Международного союза исследователей доисторической и раннеисторической эпохи (Union Internationale des Sciences Préhistoriques et Protohistoriques UISPP). Член редакционного совета журнала «Advances in Archaeomaterials» (Китай).
Служебная деятельность. А. Джиумлиа-Маир участвовала в различных проектах по изучению археологического металла в Великобритании, Германии, Италии, КНР, Канаде, Словении и др. в 1985-2000 гг. С 2000 г. А. Джиумлиа-Маир возглавляет лабораторию «AGM Archeoanalisi». В последние двадцать лет А. Джиумлиа-Маир участвовала в международных проектах в качестве ведущего эксперта по археометрическому анализу. А. Джиумлиа-Маир на регулярной основе работает с археологическими экспедициями (позднеантичный готский памятник Торраччиа (г. Сан-Джиминьяно, область Тоскана), памятник эпохи Лангобардского королевства во Фьезоле (область Тоскана), железо- и бронзовоплавильные мастерские в Дзамбана (провинция Тренто, Италия) и др. В течение 11 лет и в настоящее время А. Джиумлиа-Маир - ведущий специалист по металлургии и археометрии Филадельфийского Института исследований Эгейской культуры на Крите (Пахейя-Аммос, Восточный Крит).

С 2021 г. А. Джиумлиа-Маир руководит лабораторией архитектурной археологией и междисциплинарного изучения архитектурных памятников и проводит исследование по теме «Домонгольские росписи Новгорода археологический контекст и естественно-научные исследования (фрески Георгиевского собора Юрьева монастыря из раскопок 2013–2020 годов» (грант Правительства Российской Федерации для государственной поддержки научных исследований, проводимых под руководством ведущих ученых в российских вузах и научных организациях).

Экспедиционная деятельность: Археологические раскопки в Черветери (этрусский город Цере (Кере), 1973), в земле Нижняя Австрия (город Карнунтум, 1973, 1974), в Магдаленсберге, земля Каринтия (1975, 1976, 1977, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983), в области Фриули (город Видулис, 1984), на вилле Айано/Торрачча ди Сан-Джиминьяно, Тоскана (20082009) и др.

Награды: награда Словенского археологического общества (Slovensko Arheološko Društvo) за исследования материалов археологических раскопок в Словении. А. Джиумлиа-Маир принята в почетные члены Общества (1999).

Педагогическая деятельность: в 19922005 гг. А. Джиумлиа-Маир  разрабатывала и читала курсы по археометрии, материаловедению и античной металлургии для студентов, магистрантов и аспирантов в Зальцбургском университете (Австрия), Университете Триеста (Università di Trieste), Университете Тренто, Университете Удине (Università di Udine), в Люблянском университете, (Словения), в Миланском университете (Università degli Studi di Milano), в Миланском политехническом институте, а также в рамках аспирантской программы для археологов-специалистов по охране культурного наследия в Многофункциональном центре г. Гориция (Centro Polifunzionale di Gorizia), Италия.

Автор лекций по археометаллургии и исследованиям археологических материалов для сотрудников музеев и других специалистов (20032019).

Автор более 30 научных работ за последние 5 лет.
